Star Wars Battlefront II for PSP is similar to its recently announced console counterpart with space combat, playable Jedi, and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith content, yet it still boasts several distinct features meant to embrace the "on-the-go" nature of a handheld system. The game includes several unique mini-campaigns as opposed to the much longer campaign seen on consoles. Players can join the Rebellion as a smuggler, work for themselves as a mercenary for hire, or use their Imperial sniping skills to rid the galaxy of pesky species like Jawas, Ewoks and Gungans. Wi-Fi compatibility permits up to four players to join in at once, either cooperatively or competitively, and they can also partake in classic Instant Action mode to fight their favorite Star Wars battles any way they want to.

Bee Wars is one of those games that was announced (last summer, 2010), then sort of disappeared into limbo, completely forgotten by me until suddenly it appeared just last week. India-based Gameshastra was one of the earliest Minis developers. Then, they seemed to move away from them for a while (to iOS, naturally), but this is the second Mini they’ve released in the last month or so.At first glance, it appears to be a bee-themed, turn-based wargame. Indeed, it basically plays like one—you have a map divided up into hexes, and you move various types of units from place to place, capturing objects (flowers) and guarding your base (beehive), while the AI does the same. Not unlike the old classic wargames of computer gaming’s golden age. But, it also has some puzzle elements which can overshadow the wargame part, and you really need to discover how to beat a level by figuring out the trick to it.You have the basic Worker Bee that sucks the nectar from a flower. But you also have Thief Bees that will come up and steal honey from them or from the opposing beehive. To counter these, there are Police Bees, who lock up the bandit bee in jail and take the honey back. But what do you counter the Police Bees with? Ninja Bees, of course. The catch with Ninja Bees is they move slowly, only one hex at a time. Ninja Bees can also ward off the dreaded Bear and Farmer, who can attack your beehive.

Ozma Wars is one of the first wave of old SNK arcade classics released as Minis, developed by G1M2 and published by SNK Playmore. It is the oldest of the bunch, going back to 1979. It both looks and plays like an early arcade game, when genre tropes had not yet been firmly established. In this case, the vertical space shooter, where it apparently was only the second ever made (after Space Invaders).The very basics are the same as in most other games; you move a ship left and right and fire a cannon by hitting a button. But, instead of having a set number of lives, you have a certain amount of energy, counted in the thousands. When you die, you lose about five to ten thousand from it (seems to depend on what you hit, or what hits you). What’s more, rather than the level restarting, or the action resetting, with the enemies pausing, the game simply freezes while the energy loss counts down.There is no brief period of invulnerability afterward, either. This means that when the game resumes, the action starts again right as it was. So, if you were in the midst of a barrage of enemy bullets and the first one hit you, well, the second is going to hit you, and the third, and well, all of them. So you have very little margin for error in the game.

The Empire strikes back in this sequel to the endearing Star Wars game made all of LEGOs. LEGO Star Wars II follows the Rebel Alliance's battle to dismantle the Galactic Empire and rebuild a galaxy in pieces. From Darth Vader's pursuit of Princess Leia aboard her blockade runner to a showdown on the reconstructed Death Star, the game includes even more of the family-friendly LEGO action. The sequel finally allows you to build with your LEGO blocks, as a new Free Play mode allows gamers to customize the vehicles for new ship designs, as well as Free Play all of the playable characters (over 100 in total) by mixing and matching body parts, forming the likes of "Stormbacca", "Chew Vader" and "Leia Wan Kenobi." Other additions include cool new character-specific attacks and maneuvers, Power Brick items, playable mini-kit vehicles, an improved two-player camera, a greater challenge for advanced players, and more.
